John Lewis Setting up New Call Centre in Manchester

It was not long ago that Jones Lang LaSalle’s report on call centres in Manchester not being ready to reduce floor space to cut down on expenditures came out. However, the departmental chain, John Lewis has been considering opening of its new call centre in Manchester instead of Didsbury.

The final decision will be taken only after taking into account the cost of rentals as well as sufficiency of floor space. The city centre is one of the most plausible business relocation options for the call centre as it is well equipped with all the facilities that might be needed by the company for its purposes. It will not only serve the growing demands from the online shoppers for the chain but also help in creation of three hundred odd jobs.

John Lewis is expected to be considering a couple of locations in at 3 Piccadilly Place. These locations include Argent’s offices and Ask Developments First Street offices. However, nothing can be said conclusively as they have already rejected two office interiors for the proposed call centre in Didsbury.

The important thing to be noted here is that John Lewis is fact one of the very few departmental that has maintained its sales despite the downturn in economy. However, the proposed move is likely to be the only exception to the findings of Jones Lang LaSalle’s report, suggesting move of companies looking for lower rents to suburban areas.
