Can You Afford Not to Have a up to Date Health and Safety Policy?

As you may or may not be aware if you have a company or business in the United Kingdom that employs five or more people you must have a written health and safety policy in place. Now this can be completed in house by you or a manager but let me point out some of the pitfalls with this. You may not have considered everything in your policy including employee’s welfare, risk assessments, your legal requirements and so on. Also you may not know this but you could actually lose contracts after releasing your health and safety policy for review. That’s right when you are asked for your health and safety policy by main contractors, local governments and anyone else who may be considering giving you work, they actually read through your health and safety policy and arrangements to see how well you perform. Now please believe me when I say that we have had hundreds off people come to us wondering why they are never busy with work as there prices are competitive, there service is good but still they never seem to get many big contracts. They have never considered that there health and safety policy is to blame. Now not only do you need a good policy for getting more work it is also a legal requirement and the original reason for its existence is to keep your workforce and anyone affected by your work safe.
